Clinical Study Shows Substantial Increases in Skin Visco-elasticity

Human skin is “viscous,” existing as neither a solid nor liquid, but a living form of elastic that degenerates with age.

In a unique biomechanical study conducted in his own practice, Dr. Jacobs had patients apply his Visco-Elastic Transforming Serum™ with Mandelic Acid to their faces and necks twice daily. Each week, their skin was tested with a Cutometer®, a device proven to measure the visco-elasticity of skin, accurate to one-millionth of an inch.

After four weeks, patients who began the study with good skin elasticity showed an 11% increase in elasticity, and a 32% increase in the firmness of their skin.

Patients who began the study with low skin elasticity showed a 47% increase in elasticity, and a 25% increase in firmness.

Patients in both groups saw their lower eyelid elasticity increase by 29%.

The Science of Mandelic Acid

Mandelic acid is a molecule relatively new to modern skin care. It is larger than its cousin, glycolic acid, so it penetrates the skin more slowly, producing a sustained level of action with less irritation. Mandelic acid can also be used on all skin types and with varying skin pigmentation, and has the added benefit of neutralizing the bacteria that causes acne.
